How to Respond to a Recruiter's Referral Request

Follow

Once a recruiter identifies someone in your network that they think might be a match for a role, they will send you a request to make the referral.

You will receive an email letting you know that you have referrals waiting.

  1. Click See Candidates to review:
  2. That will bring you to a page where you can take action on and review all of your pending candidates. You have 4 ways in which you can respond. 1) Refer, 2) Not A Match, 3) Don’t Know, and 4) Pass to Recruiter.
  3. Once you click Refer and you will have the opportunity to review/personalize the email to be sent before the message is sent.
  4. Should you decide to Pass to Recruiter, a pop-up will appear and you can say whether or not to mention your name when the recruiter reaches out, as well as to write any notes on the candidate.
